SoapBox Server® 2010 Features
Features New to SoapBox Server 2010!
New! BOSH
Both Soapbox Server 2010 and SoapBox SDK Studio® 2010 include a high performance IIS6/7 x86/x64 handler for integrated web collaboration. The IIS handler is useful to solve cross-domain issues. Tested on multi-server web farms, each server ran the handler on Windows Server 2008 x64. These servers then proxy the BOSH communications to a SoapBox Server installation configured to support composite sockets. Our BOSH implementation works well with JSJaC, the most popular XMPP BOSH JavaScript library.
New! Composite Sockets
Composite Sockets support BOSH, XMPP, legacy SSL Jabber, Adobe policy file requests and Silverlight policy file requests on a single listening socket. This adds significant capability for customers who were having trouble previously getting through firewalls for cross-domain communication.
New! Multicasting Extension
SoapBox Server 2010 now has a multicasting extension for optimized delivery of messages.
New! Archiving Extension
A high performance archiving extension in now included. This extension was developed originally to support the U. S. Department of Energy’s need for archiving high volumes of emergency messages. The extension has been tested to support a peak volume of 8,000 messages within 2 seconds.
New! XML Compression
A proprietary XML compression library is now included. It was developed to accommodate high-volume, data-intense communications. The library is deployed in various client sensor nets.
New! C++ XMPP Library
Scheduled for mid-2010 release, the library is a very small, portable C++ XMPP library.
