[Update]
The slide deck from the presentation can be found here. This is a Powerpoint 2007 slide deck, and I'm not quite sure what will happen with an older version of Powerpoint.
The presentation seemed to go over very well. There were about 30 people there, and it ended up being quite an interactive session, with people asking all kinds of good questions.
[Original Entry]
On August 28th, I'm presenting on Writing Shrinkwrap Software for the Sacramento .Net User Group.
I've worked on a number of consumer products, and had software I've written installed by more than 5 million people. As all consumer software authors can tell ya, there's always more to writing consumer grade, mass market software than you would ever expect. During this presenation I'm going to try to cover all the things people forget about, and make sure anyone going into doing this know what they'll be biting off.
I'll be approaching the topic from a mostly technical perspective, although there are certainly a number of non-technical issues that need to be covered.
After the presentation, I'll post the slides here, as well as an overview of what I covered.
If there's anything anyone would like to see in there, please let me know ASAP, while there's still time for me to work it in.
